Eagle Lake Road Boat Launch

The Eagle Lake Road Boat Launch is a popular access point managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This launch site, located at the end of Eagle Lake Road, features a gravel surface ramp suitable for medium-sized watercraft. The launch area provides 15 parking spaces for visitors.

Brady Road Boat Launch

In addition to the Eagle Lake Road Boat Launch, there is another public access point on Brady Road, offering an alternative entry to the lake.

Plans to Improve Public Access

Eagle Lake Michigan Public Access

The Michigan DNR has been actively working to enhance public access to Eagle Lake. In 2014, the DNR attempted to purchase a 9-acre site to develop a new parking and boat launch facility, but the plan was met with opposition from the Eagle Lake Improvement Association.

Undeterred, the DNR shifted its focus to a smaller 1.8-acre parcel north of the Dock property. This proposed project would provide 16 vehicle/trailer parking spots, five additional spots for cars without trailers, and a second boat launch on a channel connecting to Juno, Christiana, and Painter lakes.

Restrictions or Regulations

Swimming Prohibition

The DNR has implemented a swimming prohibition along its 450 feet of beach front on Eagle Lake. This measure is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

Boat Wash Station

There are plans to install a high-pressure boat-wash station at one of the public access points to help prevent the spread of invasive species. However, the funding for this project is currently unavailable.

Additional Information

Eagle Lake Beach

The Eagle Lake Beach area offers a variety of amenities for visitors. In addition to the boat launch, the beach features a playground, grassy patches for picnics, and washroom facilities. The water quality at Eagle Lake Beach meets the standards for safe swimming 95% of the time.
