Current Fire Restrictions in Lake Tahoe
Truckee Fire Ban
Effective June 17, 2024, the Truckee Fire Ban prohibits wood and charcoal fires, including BBQs, in residential areas. Outdoor gas devices are permitted, but all open flames are banned during Red Flag Warnings.
Donner Memorial State Park Fire Restrictions
Camping is allowed in designated camp rings, but wood and charcoal fires are prohibited in day-use areas. Propane/gas grills are permitted, except during Red Flag Warnings.
Tahoe National Forest Stage 1 Fire Restrictions
From July 2 to November 1, 2024, campfires are prohibited outside of established fire rings within designated developed campgrounds and day-use sites. Smoking is also restricted, except within enclosed vehicles or buildings, or in designated areas.
